ADULT. + Plack Blague + Disko Obscura

ADULT. returns to New Orleans this year on their Fall 2018 tour, this time bringing the Plack Blague duo with them.

Over the course of the last two decades, Detroit's ADULT. (Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller) have been perhaps one of the most fervent proponents of a dark, dance aesthetic that harnesses the perverse aspects of the late '70s analog dystopian post-modernism. Every song the duo constructs is a strenuous exercise in claustrophobia, anxiety and bleak humor expressed through raw synthesizers, ridged beats and the haunted voice of Kuperus. The melodies twist off their tonal centers and grind each other in dirty, unspeakable ways. OG stalwarts of DIY dance-punk.

Joining ADULT. on this leg of the tour is Nebraska's elusive Leather Band, Plack Blague, on a rampant path of sex, destruction and electronic leather mayhem for over a decade. Performing nationally from large theaters and dive bars to art galleries, dingy basements, and even children's television shows, the leather-clad masked monstrosity continues to attract and confuse audiences varying from dance party club kids to heavy metal beer guzzlers. PLACK BLAGUE's sound emits a vile combination of primitive Industrial noise, sadistic Body Music, and throbbing dance beat party vibes. The live performance is a "must see" spectacle of homoerotic Leathersexual delusions of grandeur mixed with muscle flexing tantrums of harsh noise and electronic disco. PLACK BLAGUE has been making headlines with feature articles in media outlets like Revolver Magazine and Out Magazine, which premiered the music video for "Just Another Man of the Street" from the 2017 album "Night Trax" released by New York City label, Ormolycka Records.

New Orleans local indie label and record shop proprietor, Joey Buttons aka Disko Obscura spins a special DJ set to welcome our DIY dance-punk comrades back to the Big Easy.
